The musical "Elisabeth" is (c) Michael Kunze and Sylvester Levay. Please feel free to correct me if something is wrong or missing.
...Erm, yes. In the original musical prince Rudolf isn't answering the Death with an accusation but they sing a duet which is probably a delight for many slash fans. That they kiss a while later doesn't help.
... My fourth and last Elisabeth comic will be about that kiss!
I tried to translate the Death's line of this part of the song as close to the original as possible. Like already mentioned, despite all the popularity so far there is no official English version.
Also already mentioned: my drawings of the Death is based on his appearance in the very first production of the show in Vienna. He was played by the young Uwe Kroeger and it was considered Kroeger's big breakthrough. He's still the most popular male German musical star, but unfortunately his voice lost imho a bit of his special charme over the last years. In the very first Elisabeth production, though ... I read back then lots of women went absolutely fangirl-y over his looks and his voice . Perhaaaps I would have joined them - at least a little - if I would have been older at that time.
